Interview with G.P.A. (Marc Livingston)

Today we're chatting with The Mind of a Poetic Unsub author G.P.A. (Greatest Poet Alive) a.k.a Marc Livingston. He's here to talk about his new book, which comes out in April.

Due to the sensitive nature of the book, I've hidden it behind a cut. If you're not of sensitive mind, an adult, and/or can handle adult themes, feel free to read on.

Welcome to We Do Write, Marc. Tell us a bit about yourself.

G.P.A.(Greatest Poet Alive) is the phenomenal poetic unsub. He is currently the Moth Storytelling Champion and nominated for Poet of the Year as of this interview. G.P.A. has written and published three books (The Confessional Heart of a Man, The Book of 24 Orgasms, and The Mind of a Poetic Unsub) He has participated in several anthologies as well and hosts an open mic in Chicago called Poetry's Love Letter.

How long have you been writing?

I have writing Poetry since 2007.

Tell us about REVENGE OF THE ORGASM. What’s the story about?

Revenge of the Orgasm is an erotic autobiography told through poetic verse.

How did the idea of the story come to you?

The premise behind Revenge of the Orgasm is that after intimate and sexual encounters with women, there were many of them that were so pleasurable that they remain with me. But at any time, these memories can appear. And this is where the idea of "revenge" stems from.

Do you have a critique group/partner or beta readers, or do you self-edit?

I bounce ideas off of Kottyn Campbell,my rhyme partner, then i go to an outside firm for professional editing.

Are you a plotter or a pantser?

When i initially write poems for a respective book of mine, i am a pantser. But once the poems are completed, i become a meticulous plotter with every detail.

What’s the hardest part of writing for you?

The hardest part of writing is not stopping. There is always some theme or another form that i wish to experiment with.

What do you absolutely have to have nearby when writing?

Music, coffee, or Coke Zero is what i must have when i am writing.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

Great question. After watching Heroes on Netflix, I would be like Siylar and absorb other super powers.

What's the weirdest thing you've googled?

The weirdest thing that i have googled are song lyrics to find out the title of a song that I could not remember.

Quick writing test! Use the following words in a sentence: organic, game, and menacing.

The beast was so menacing that it would provide competitive game and be as close to an organic meal i would have in this wilderness

Finish this sentence: If I'm not writing, I'm

probably performing.

Here’s the part where you thank the people who are supporting you. Let's hear your shout outs.

God,family, supporters, all of which encompass #teamGPA. Thank you much. I appreciate you more than these words of mine can express.

And finally, where can people find you and your books online?

 www.iblowyourmind.net and also Amazon
