SPRING BREAK!

Hello, friends!

Dorothy and I will be taking a break from blogging for the rest of this week. Dorothy will be on vacation (even a super woman like Dorothy needs a break once in a while) and I will be attending a conference for my day-job.

Summer Hiatus ... Mostly

Hello, blogosprites! Well, the time has come for this writer to go on a family vacation. I'll be gone two weeks, and that means my blog is on hiatus. Mostly. Mostly and not completely, because I have one post scheduled to go live while I'm gone. And hopefully it goes live without blogger messing it up. :-/

So here's the run-down:

• We Do Write is on hiatus from July 27th until August 10th
• On July 30th, an automated post of Aubrie Dionne's cover reveal & giveaway should go live
• On August 10th, when I return, I'll have an interview post with author JC Martin
• On August 12th, I'll post a reminder about the Three-Two-One pitch contest

Then it's back to business as usual.

No Vacation for Writers?

So tomorrow's my last day of work before I go on vacation for two weeks. YES! I seriously need a break.

But as writers, do we really get a break? I'm waiting on the first round of edits from my editor which should be landing in my inbox any day now, a fact that makes me extremely nervous. I'm also waiting on bits of news from my publisher I can't stop thinking about. I also have to write the sequel to my not-even-released-yet debut novel. Okay, I've outlined it, at least. So that's a start. But knowing I'll have a time crunch eventually, I feel like I need to dive into writing it. How do I do that when I'm on vacation visiting family? Even if I bring a laptop, will I get the time?

Tell me how you do it. Do you leave all writerly things behind when on vacation, or do you sneak in as much writing as you can while you're away?

I'm back from my vacation, but still trying to get back into the swing of things. I didn't want to leave you hanging though, so I thought I'd post an "I'm back" announcement and let you know I'll have some interviews for you again soon.

Aaaaaand BREAK!

Okay, my friends. Here's the deal. My family and I are going on vacation starting tomorrow. We will be in Singapore for two days, then flying to the Philippines where my mother's side of the family has put together a huge reunion. I mean HUGE. She has ten siblings, and they all have kids, and their kids all have kids. So, um, yeah. HUGE. But I'm very excited. My hubby and kids haven't been to the PI yet (that's short for Philippine Islands, in case you couldn't connect the dots) so it should be very interesting.

So all that to say, I won't be updating the blog while I'm gone. However, I will be back in two weeks with more awesome interviews for your reading pleasure. And if you're a writer who might want to be interviewed, leave me a comment with contact info and I'll get back to you when I return.
