We Interrupt this Blog ...

Hey folks! As you probably have noticed, I've been skimping on the posts lately. Sorry about that. I'm on a self-inflicted writing deadline, and this month is going to be harsh. So I thought it would be best that I didn't stretch myself out too far and sacrifice quality. What does that mean? It just means I'm taking a blog hiatus for the rest of the month. I wish I could take a hiatus from work as well, but I don't think I could swing that. A laundry-dishes-vacuuming hiatus sounds good too. Shucks.

In any case, I'll be back in November with more exciting author interviews and updates. In fact, if you're a writer who wants to talk about your work, send me an email at dorothyanndreyer [at] gmail [dot] com, and I'll get back to you about doing an interview or featuring your book.

Also, I'd love to do another agent-judged contest, so I'll be looking into that after my hiatus as well. Stay tuned!

Enjoy October, everyone!

Idle Engines

Hello, my dear friends.

I'm back from my vacation, but still trying to get back into the swing of things. I didn't want to leave you hanging though, so I thought I'd post an "I'm back" announcement and let you know I'll have some interviews for you again soon.

Thanks for sticking with me. :)

Aaaaaand BREAK!

Okay, my friends. Here's the deal. My family and I are going on vacation starting tomorrow. We will be in Singapore for two days, then flying to the Philippines where my mother's side of the family has put together a huge reunion. I mean HUGE. She has ten siblings, and they all have kids, and their kids all have kids. So, um, yeah. HUGE. But I'm very excited. My hubby and kids haven't been to the PI yet (that's short for Philippine Islands, in case you couldn't connect the dots) so it should be very interesting.

So all that to say, I won't be updating the blog while I'm gone. However, I will be back in two weeks with more awesome interviews for your reading pleasure. And if you're a writer who might want to be interviewed, leave me a comment with contact info and I'll get back to you when I return.

Until then, I wish you all a great mid-October!

On Hold

I had really planned on filling this week with interviews, but a couple of things got in the way.

First and foremost, I'm have a few emails I'm waiting for from some really great aspiring writers—and, that's right, I haven't received them yet. I can understand that though. I think everyone's been jumping back into work after spring break and/or vacations, and it takes time to get to everything. Hopefully I'll have them for next week's posts.

The second reason is that my mind is elsewhere today. My husband worked in London all week and was supposed to fly back home this evening. But due to the volcano that erupted in Iceland, all flights have been cancelled, and he has no way of getting home tonight. Poor guy doesn't even have a hotel to stay at yet (the company's travel organizer is trying to sort it all out). So I've been worried about him—and about ash flying over his head and heading this way—which leaves me in no right mind to concentrate on posting a proper interview.

So please forgive me.

I'm sure everything will turn out okay. I'm just a worrier, I can't help it.

Layout

Hello again!

Just a quick post today. I've got more interviews lined up, and I'm really excited that the blog is off to a good start. In case I didn't mention it, I'm still new at this interviewing thing, and I hope I don't disappoint anyone. What, me? Anxious? Nah.

I also wanted to mention that I found some really great backgrounds and headers and such over at shabbyblogs.com, and I am very tempted to grab some of the wonderful stuff I've seen there and redo the look of this blog. Even though I made the current background myself, shabbyblogs is chock full of so much pretty that I can't resist trying it out. So don't be surprised if my look is different next time you pop in.

Until next time, happy writing!
