Second Part Interview with Aneesa Price

We're talking again with author Aneesa Price. This time we'll be discussing her novel, FINDING PROMISE.

Welcome back to WE DO WRITE, Aneesa. Tell us about FINDING PROMISE.

A woman striving for independence.
A man with a charmed upbringing.
A small town filled with welcoming and quirky characters.

Caroline had led the life of a high society daughter and wife, one that was filled with soul-destroying emotional abuse. Upon the death of her husband, she finds that she is financially incapable of supporting herself and flees New York without a plan or destination in mind. Her travels lead her to Promise, a small town on the New England coast.

Following instinct, she settles in Promise and begins to explore her new found independence and the pleasurable side of love with ruggedly handsome local, Luke Edwards. Her new-found contentment is shattered as past resurrects itself and she needs to find the courage to face it before she can truly re-build her life.

How did the idea of the story come to you?

This is the very first full-length novel I attempted and I did so on a whim. It started with the decision to write followed by the exercise of sifting through what I enjoy most in romance. I did a lot of research to authentic the setting and so forth but the overall idea was born from providing other readers like me with all the favorite elements I enjoy in small-town, contemporary romance wrapped into one book.

What’s the hardest part of writing for you?

I'm a full-time employee of a large corporate and a full-time mom. Those are already demanding roles. As I'm exceptionally driven and strive for perfection (I never do things in half-measure), the demands I make on myself is the hardest part of writing. I am impatient and would love nothing more than to sit and focus on writing sans the day job. Writing when one is tired and averaging 3 hours sleep catches up, so I'm trying to learn to pace myself better... this is in the end, a journey.

What do you absolutely have to have nearby when writing?

Coffee or tea, smokes and paper to scribble on.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

The ability to read minds as I'm exceptionally curious. I also love travel so if that super-power was 'out of stock', I'd love to be able to teleport myself and my family to any destination with a blink of an eye and a spell lol.

Finish this sentence: If I'm not writing, I'm probably ...

thinking about what I could write about whether I'm baking with the kids, relaxing with hubby or driving to work. (It has become an obsession.)
